We think that God has fertilizer figured out better than man does. That’s why TerreMax plans to use a significant amount of turkey litter (manure). Turkey litter has several advantages over chemical fertilizers. Traditional fertilizers contain only Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium. Turkey litter contains N, P, and K also and additionally contains several micronutrients and organic matter. A large portion of the soils in Vigo county have very low organic matter and/or a way to naturally supply nitrogen to the plant. The combination of no tillage and Turkey litter insure that TerreMax is doing everything possible to improve soil health and allow the soil to produce healthy crops with the least dependence on chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers contain chlorine and do not provide a natural nutrient supply.
